E17 Summer Craft Markets
Monthly Summer Craft Markets at Beautiful Interiors, 34 orford Road E17 9NJ
Edwyn UK are taking part in the Monthly Craft Market organised by the East London Craft Guerrilla, and showcased the garden of the gorgeous Penny Fielding Beautiful Interiors shop in one of East London’s best kept secrets Walthamstow Village!
It really is a delightful space; the shop is filled with a wonderful eclectic mix of vintage fashion and home wares as well as inspired new designs. A champion of local talent, once a month Penny will be sharing her glorious outdoor space with some very talented local makers for essentially what will be a very lovely garden party with complimentary tea and coffee, home baked cakes from the “Handsome Betty Baked Goods Garden Cafe” and beautiful things to inspire and delight you as well a chance to meet the makers direct and have a chat. No hard sell here, but you may find it hard to resist taking something home with you!
Now we know Walthamstow Village is a little bit off the beaten track, but if you have never been to Walthamstow Village, you really are in for a treat! Just around the corner is a gem of a local museum the Vestry House Museum, admission is free and the gardens are a delight!
Across the road at no 57 is a wonderful old-fashioned butcher, selling fantastic sausages: The East London Sausage Company.
And also in the same road is the seriously tempting Eat17 Deli, lots of goodies: cupcakes, delicious Victoria sponge, some really tasty scotch eggs, you won’t be able to leave without being tempted by something I can guarantee it. The restaurant is very good too, and the outdoor decking area out back great on a lovely summers day.
But stroll around the village and see a lovely old 15th century timeber framed “hall” house, 16th and 18th centuries almshouses, a delightful12th century village church and you may even forget you’re in London, but if you do want a reminding, then just head on down to Walthamstow Market, a favourite of ours for it’s great selection of fabric & trimming shops and stalls, and not forgetting the lovely tiled Pie & Mash shop too.
A little further afield, but not that far, is the lovely William Morris Gallery, right next to the lovely setting of Averling Park with its flowerbeds and ponds and a little café.
Venture across he road and you might just find some real bargains in the Salvation Army Charity Shop, which has a large furniture section and the odd seriously good find!
If you’ve come this far then you really have to walk up the hill of Ruby Road to Ruby Road Stables, now this is a REAL treasure, full to the brim with furniture and knick knacks inside, outside the most lovely assortment of outdoor furniture, bedding plants and oddments – now did I really want to give that one away….mmmmmmm…….
I had hoped to get a map done, but have run out of time, but come to the Beautiful Interiors Garden and I will tell you in person where find everything…………

Mmm, seems like Walthamstow has changed a lot since I last visited!
Walthamstow Village is an oasis a stones throw from the Walthamstow you probably remember, but even it has its charms especially if you like a nice bit of linen….
Is the Ruby Road place open during the week?
Yes it is, but best ring the number: 07956 628554 to check when it is open.
Do you have any stalls available for the 18th July and 29th August craft markets?
