London Dog Walk – Walthamstow Marshes
I love this time of year, the crisp cold air, the bright brilliant sunshine, and the most wonderful wide open spaces to enjoy it all, all here in London town just minutes away from where we live! We park in the Lea Valley Ice Centre car park on Lea Bridge Road, then set off on a circular route that takes us across the marshes past the criss crossing of railway lines, up to Springfield Marina where we stop for a cup of tea in the cafe next to Springfield Park, then continue along the River Lea (or is it the Lea Navigation – I do get mixed up which is which at this point!) then back over the bridge and back again. Here’s more photo’s along the way….
lots more house boats than there used to be…..
is there a cat in that boat??
no, but there’s one on this boat, opposite the Marina…..
I love seeing these stripey cows, such a lovely sight in London town!
There are many more routes and pathways to take , it’s an area well worth exploring! See here for info.
Lovely photos. What make are those stripey cows?
I’m not sure, I did see them on Countryfile the other week, probably something like Ye Olde Strype Cowe!
The cows are called Belted Galloways which is almost as good as Ye Olde Strype Cowe.
