Victoria Park Weltaf Walk
On Sunday a group of us Welsh Terrier owners met up at Victoria Park for an amble and a chat via the canal and a brief view of the Olympic Stadium (access is restricted at the moment for tarting up tow paths…)
Weltaf (Welsh Terrier and Friends) is an informal group set up to inform and advise Welsh Terrier owners and would be owners. Various ‘members’ volunteer to organise walks all over the country, details are put on the Weltaf website and flickr forum. It’s a great chance to meet other Welshies and talk to your hearts content about these fantastic dogs without fear of boring anyone half to death! Plus an excellent chance for anyone thinking of getting a Welsh Terrier to meet them in the flesh and get a chance to ask questions and help find out if they are the right breed for you.
We had at least three pups out with us on Sunday, a lovely sunny day and a great turn out. Thanks to Lars and Adam for organising it!
Edwyn and his new friend Florence.
The dogs were well catered for at the cafe near St Marks Gate (I can’t remember the name!)
Smiley Dolly after she’d worked the table for tidbits……
Oh that looks brilliant. I wish there was a similar thing for lakeland terriers. Would love to go for walkies with similar dogs!
Liz, there are often ‘square dog’ guests, we had a WFT and often have airedale’s joining the walks, so you would be more than welcome with an adorable Lakeland (how often do they get confused anyway??)
Boo hoo, my master wozn’t aware of it happnin’ so I didn’t get to meet any of my rellies.
Oh no!! Haven’t they set you up on the forum yet? I thought you knew. I was looking out for you 😦 There will be plenty more walks though, some are already listed on the Weltaf website and I want to do another along the canal once it’s re-opened.
Such a shame, I so want to meet Bruno!
